Join us for Groundwork, an important event uniting the awesome power of Baltimore’s tech community with organizations and people who could greatly benefit from access to open data and the technological skills to analyze it.

Groundwork is a new way of mobilizing change at a local level. It’s a collaboration of policy makers, developers, local educators, and concerned citizens who will come together to analyze the pressing needs of Baltimore, mash up a giant pot of data, and come out with multiple solutions that can help solve some of the City’s biggest problems.

This is an opportunity affect critical change in Baltimore by working together with organizations in need, the federal Department of Health and Human Services, and both the Mayor’s and Governor’s offices.

Our mission is to help people bring their ideas to life. That’s what we try to do through our daily interviews with folks ranging from Seth Godin to Tony Hsieh to Craig Newmark, and that’s what we’re trying to do with our 48-state road trip across America.

And that’s what we’re going to do with our event in Baltimore. At every event, we we bring in a wide range of awesome speakers who then spend 10 minutes talking about an idea they brought (or are bringing to life), how they did and what you can learn from it. And then you’ll have 10 minutes to ask them questions and continue the conversation. We try to create an intimate setting that allows for the audience to really engage with our speakers.

We promise you’re going to walk away with at least five super valuable nuggets of information to put to use for your own idea. This isn’t a networking event, but you’re sure to meet some fascinating people.

The event will start at 6pm and go until about 9pm.

It’s the Station North 10-Year Anniversary Celebration.

With another of its monthly Final Friday celebrations in September, the Station North Arts and Entertainment District will celebrate 10 years of revitalizing Station North as one of Baltimore’s richest creative hubs.
